Placement of the largest sofa
The largest sofa should face the focal point of your living room. It allows more people to naturally view the star of the room. If the focal point is the television, place the three seater facing toward it.
Area around the coffee table
Ensure that there is sufficient space around the coffee table, so that no one hit with the coffee table. There should be a distance of 45 cm between any sofa and the coffee table. However, there should not be too much space either, as the coffee table should still be reachable.
Consider the pathways around the sofa
Ensure that all the pathways to and within the sofa area are easy to walk and open. A sofa is meant to sit and relax, so the placement of the sofa should reflect the same purpose. Also avoid placing the sofa near the doors and in high traffic area.
